My dreams of becoming a writer began early on—when I was eight years old to be exact. I grew up in North Branford, Connecticut, and back then my third grade teacher would post a writing prompt on the blackboard each day and ask us to craft a story from it. One day, the instructions were to write about a feast, but I thought it said beast. (I was having trouble seeing the blackboard but I was afraid that if I told anyone, I'd have to get glasses.) That mistake would change my life: Even though I wrote about the wrong topic, my teacher loved my story and asked if she could share it with her colleagues. That's when I knew I'd grow up to be a writer. And if I had to wear glasses while doing so, that was fine too. (I've since traded in my specs for contact lenses.)
Today I am still amazed that I get to do what I love everyday. (Getting paid for it isn't bad either.) I began my career at Teen People, but in 2006, after an amazing seven years there, I decided to pursue my freelance career full-time. On this site you'll find a sampling of my articles and copywriting projects as well as links to my books, Quiz Zone and Quiz Zone 2 .
